Different service “Lost sheep”

This was another cafe style service in the Main Hall, where informal seating round coffee tables and a supply of cakes and coffee created a relaxed atmosphere. James stepped aside and the service was led by Gill Powell with Mike and Daniel, Sarah Earl, Caroline Cooper and John Carr.

jigsawcolorgrowing_seedWe started by thinking about hope and trust. The fun of making up jigsaw puzzles reminded us that whilst we don’t see the end picture of our lives we trust that the pieces will slowly fit together year by year with an ultimate satisfying completeness
The other demonstration of hope was an invitation to plant a seed and trust in its potential for growth. Unlike the previous service where we made bread and ate it immediately, James couldn’t make our seeds grow - a useful reminder that life isn’t about instant results.

A play about The Lost Sheep brought a nice touch of humour to the evening. Everyone can identify with the feelings of being lonely, rejected and lost. We can trust that the good shepherd will find us and bring us back to the flock rejoicing. The one that was lost is now found !lostsheep
