Muhaka and Stephen Kanja Primary School                15th August 2007  <back to Jackie’s report         

This report shows the progress of Muhaka primary school; predominantly while school teams have been in country during the months of July and August. The first block of classrooms has been completely renovated and painted with educational murals on the walls, the roofing has been replaced and a new verandah has been constructed along the front of the building. The headmaster’s new office has been converted from a material store and now sits in the center of this block of classrooms. To the right side the foundations of the next block of classrooms to be built have been laid. 

This report also shows the inside of one of the classrooms and the newly built gate of Stephen Kanja which symbolizes the continuing progress on school infrastructure while most project work at present is focused on the water project. 

This block of classrooms has been completely renovated and painted with educational murals on the walls.

The headmasters office has been made into a teacher’s staff room, this whole building is still under its final stages of renovation. The floors of all the classrooms are yet to be plastered and eventually the roof shall be replaced.  At present the room to the right of this picture is being used as a storage area for camp Kenya materials and tools, it shall however be converted into a bookstore. 

The foundation of the new classroom block. Concrete shall be laid on top of these foundations in the next couple of weeks.
